I have been looking at the BX22 (difficult to get) and have an opportunity to buy a used B1750HST 4WD with loader and Mid Mower. Machine is in excellent condition (225 hours). I would look to put a BH on the 1750 if I purchase. Does anyone have any comments on the B1750? Is the lower HP a big factor? What should I expect to pay for a backhoe?

Thanks

Madcow,
you haven't defined your intended use for the tractor, but the 1750 is a great tractor and and the engine is almost the the same (slightly larger) as the bx (56.6ci vs 54.8ci). The HP is irrevelent. The larger tires, two speed pto, and "traditional") design of the 1750 make it a very effective machine. backhoe prices depend on many factors but you should be able to find one for around 4k. ....

Buzst1,

My main use is maintaining an acre (mowing & snow removal) ... along with some french drains, new walks, clearing and leveling areas... I also own a small building and have occasional projects around there. I have rented for many years and want the convenenience to just open the garage door and go to work.

Thanks for your info!!! ....

The 1750 will be better for snow, the bx has a better mowing deck, but the 1750's larger tires (if turf tires) offer a softer footprint. If you intend to keep the mower on the machine, check to see that there is enough ground clearence on the 1750 when the mower is retracted. for your other uses the 1750 will give you more power to the ground but the bx will be more manuverable due to its smaller size.
good luck... ....
